Good for you! I wish more of them did the same. I've met very few who really knew what they were doing. I hope you didn't take offense to the remark! I apologize if you took it wrong. That's why I had said "more often than not" instead of all the time. I know there are some of those like you who really care, but you sure are a minority...

Re: Pictures Of My Mali's
I didn't take offense at all. I totally agree with you, in fact. Most of my coworkers don't know what they're saying. One of them told a customer to feed a baby bearded dragon one cricket in the morning and then two more at night! and they told her that sand was better. She listened to him, even though I had already told her that shelf-liner was a superior substrate. >.<

Re: Pictures Of My Mali's
i also worked at a pet store for about 6 years total. at first I didn't know much about herps until I found HC then I did my best even if not everyone took the advice. so I also don't usually take that much offense when people say things about pet store employees, because I know its true more often than not that people are wrong and unfortunately the educated ones like us sure are a minority. its sad.
but thats why so many of us here can get much more accurate information or can be pointed in the right direction.

exactly. I love forums because that's really the best way to get information.

Yes and no. There are a lot of forums out there that pass on horrible advice. I advise anything to search multiple avenues when searching on the internet and compare notes.

I completely agree! just because someone claims to have information doesn't mean they are correct, However, I think that I have been quite lucky in getting good information. However, the internet is always tricky, as anyone can post anything, whether it's correct or not.

Re: Pictures Of My Mali's
Thats our advantage. We have a number of very experienced keepers here both as members and on staff. We do the best that we can to make sure the info that appears on this site is correct and up to date.

Re: Pictures Of My Mali's
UVA is a spectrum of visible light such as you get from a normal household bulb.
UVB is invisable to the human eye and it is the absolute necessity for reptiles.
All UVB bulbs also produce UVA but UVA bulbs don't necessarily produce UVB.
