Are they going to stay that color??

Both of my mali's are like a dark sand color when will they change color???

Not usually. As they get older they get blacker. However some get some really nice highlights of yellow of their back as well.

Thank You ..... Also one of them constanly buries his head under the sand is that normal??

sand? What kind of sand do you have them on. I'm going to guess members are going to suggest you get him off sand. I don't *think* they live on sand in their natural environment, and eating sand can cause impactions.

Natural, untreated, uncolored Calcium Carbonate Sand. An alternative to Silica Sand.

Oooooo big no no. :|. That is bad stuff and can cause impaction if ingested. If you are set on using sand, it should be sifted childs playsand.

Do you know of any site that sells the correct sand for them ....... Here's the story my daughter wanted these animals,so I went out and got them for her .... she doesnt attend or read up on how to care for them sooooooo I listened to the Petsmart Girl for proper care.. I am inlove with them, and I am very interested in their care I want to provide a GREAT happy home for them... Sorry if my questions seems stupid, and thank you for your responces and help......

You can buy playsand at most of the stores like Home Depot, Lowe's etc.
