I'm just wondering if they will freak out,,,,, I just got them and they are still a little scared, dont know if I should start making these changes right now please let me know.

go ahead and make the changes. better to have them freaked out all at once, then freaked out, settled in, and then freaked out all over again.

playsand from lowes or home depot is fine. however if your uro is 6" or under I would reccomend paper towels only

If you use playsand from a home improvement store like lowes or Home Depot, make sure it says "No Silica" because this dust is very harmful. Also make sure you sift the sand several time to ensure that you remove all pebbles

I use newspaper for some of my set-ups. For those that like the sand environment I have a sand box for them to root around in. I've done it for the Bearded Dragons I had before adopting them out - and the plated lizard has a sand box for his hide box, as well. Playsand from Lowe's...  .
