escaping uro

I was just reading a thread about a uro jumping and nearly escaping, my male (now called houdini) escaped and appeared behind me, as they dont really climb I thought i'd been v careless when feeding. a week later I hadnt seen him at his usual time so I went looking she was there he wasnt!! no mistake possible this time so started looking and found him out at the back of viv v cold, he soon bounced back, 2 days later I was watching he climbed his piece of drift wood onto his Microclime ahs up the wire and pushed the grill and this time out the back onto my hand the screw had come out of the back so looking it looked secure but houdini knew better!!! this time it is VERY secure. I have read lots but have not seen anything to say they climb and on another forum was told they dont climb about 7 times. He has revisited his escape route on a few occasions and looks fed up each time.

Re: escaping uro

Here's some proof for those skeptics
So Uros do climb trees!
I know how you feel. I've had Uros escape when I first got them. Seemed to be the younger ones. No problem scaling electrical cords.

Re: escaping uro

i would get 2, 12" paver stones and set on top of the lid. That even keeps the octopus in its tank at the aquarium.
