I've got a female Mali Uromastyx (approx. 1yr old) with which I have a concern that I'd appreciate if anyone could help out with. The problem is that she has taken a crap in about 2 weeks. The sand that I'm using for substrate is rounded sand, therefore low chance of impaction. She is still eating fairly well too. Just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else and if so what did you do to correct the problem (if it is indeed one and not just a little constipation). Thanks.

How do you feed her and what are you feeding? I would put a dish of water in for a while and let her drink all she wants. She could be dehydrated. How is your enclosure set up?

Maybe a warm bath might "move" her.....never had that trouble with my uro...good luck!!!

As Mike stated, he said to leave the water dish in the tank for a short time, long enough for her to drink, not meant to be left in tank all the time. The bath is a great idea, just make sure when you do this to dry all parts of the uro especially the tail.

It's an old wives tale or just old info that humidity is bad for Uros. They should have a moist hide to retreat to. The bath is a good idea as well the danger with humidity and Uros is if their tail is not dried out completely after getting wet. I'm suspecting dehydration. Try the bath and the water dish and see what happens.

Surprisingly, today she has gone to the bathroom. May have just been a case of slight constipation. I was doing some reading and came across a couple examples of reptiles not pooping for up to a month and they were fine afterwards. I will probably still try offering a water dish just in case.

Yes I think it's still a good idea. Get her hydrated again.

Took some water today out of a small water dish. She seems to be OK now. Sometimes I think that my reptiles do these crazy things just to worry me...

I would have to agree. What else do they have to do all day, lol
