New Uro

Hi all again...

I just got a new baby uro, and she is adorable, very active, alert..

There is quite a bit of controversy sourrounding diet, I have read several caresheets which states they will readily take live insects, as well as plenty of greens, people are telling me that they only eat greens, and asking why im giiving her crix, she enjoys the crix, and is a great hunter, ive also read that nutritional info is not known for this type of animal, and to offer a varied diet, anyone else here feed theirs live foods along with greens?

Heres a few pics, she is adorable..

Hello,

Howdy Donna! Uros are very similar to Bearded Dragons in their diet. They can and should be offered animal protein as well as their salad. As they mature, you can lessen the amount of animal protein and keep steady with the salads.

Variety is great for all animals, including your new Uro. providing a varied diet ensures that your Uro will be receiving all of its required nutrients.

Very cute btw! I want one. lol

Thanks Rich, I also heard to give them bird seeds in with their greens, I tried her with it and yes she likes the bird seeds too, shes a real piglet, shes just polished off a bowl full of greens.

I was just getting like funny attitudes from a few people cause I gave her crix, just wanted others opinions, but most caresheets and research said to feed the usual, crickets, wax worms, supers, as well as a good green diet.

Shes doing great, so im happy lol, get to set her up in a new cage monday, cant wait going uro shopping lol

Hey Donna ...Although they are similar to Bearded Dragons, they should be offered veggies more than insects. Insects can be offered as a treat, once or twice a week.
