Tell us how you keep him...for example cage temps, substrate etc. ..They tend to be more desert like, but a good soaking could help with the shed. Good luck ....

Welcome to Herp Center. I don't own a uro, so I can't help you out any.

Temp??

I have the temp between 110-130 for 12 hrs a day. he has a log he may hide in but he only does after he eats he takes a nap and then comes right back out-he's really healthy and fat he eats really well-he's still a baby tho so i'm a little worried. I heard you cannot put them in water their tails will rot if they get wet and are not properly dry! I'm trying to avoid water.

They do take a bit of time to shed, but as Lyn said, soakings and misting will help with that issue. Give us info on your enclosure.

I'm not going to soak him. I'm not trying to have tail rot on him or any thing like that-his enclosure is a 10gal tank with paper towels on bottom I have a feeding dish for his veggies and he's got a few logs that he loves to climb on!

Soaking him in water will not give him tail rot! Not sure where you got that information from or why you think that. How big is he? A 10 gl tank is not big enough for a uro that needs high basking temps, its harder to get a hot and cool side..what are the temps in your tank.

Supposedly the tailrot can happen, but if you get him dry and get him back under his light you will be okay, i suggest misting him to aid him in his shed...

His temps are 110-130 basking area he's tiny maybe a few months-I did hear you can bathe them but you just have to make sure that you dry their tails because of tail rot!! I'm just a little nervous that's all! Thanks
