Mycotic Dermatitis
I currently have 1 of my Eastern Spotted Turtles that seems to have contacted Mycotic Dermatitis (white spot disease) I have removed him from his tankmates and am currently keeping him out of an aquatic habitat but for an hour or so a day to feed and deficate. I'm treating him with a providine iodine solution and an anti-fungal cream. Has anyone had an aquatic turtle with this same problem ? and if so, how was it treated ?

Sorry Ken but I too have to profess turtle ignorance!
What does this disease look like? You said whitespots? Are the
spots raised like Ich in fish or are they flat spots?

From what I can tell by reading different things, most people are debriding (scrubbing) the shell as discussed and coating the shell with iodine and allowing to dry, then coating the shell with neosporin or anti fungal cream letting drying for 45 min then putting back in the quarantine tank. Sounds like your on the right track.

Thanks for the links Marsha. I think I'm on the rite track with this treatment accdording to the links and the reference material I have at home (Reptile Keepers Handbook by Susan Barnard). Merlin, it started with just a few spots and quickly spread to the tail and all 4 limbs. Looks almost like a white mucous. The good new is it is not showing on any of the other babbies. I'll take and post some pics later tonite for all to see. Thanks guys
