Some news on Tonka

Tonka has alot of energy. She wiggles around like a maniac when I take her out for her bath, she had the coconut substrate packed into the area infront of her back leg so I had to extra gently pull her leg back to rinse that out, she wasnt happy about it.

i think she's growing , it looks like theirs new shell around the bottom of the scutes
AND her feet are healing! their starting to resemble turtle feet instead of knobs with nails growing out
i wish my camera was cooperating, at teh moment it wont charge

Glad to hear of the improvement. And can't wait to see the pics. Box turtles would fall into the turtle category. Good luck

Box turtles have their own genus, but they're still in the same family as most freshwater aquatic turtles, Emydidae, even though they share more in appearance with torts. Personally, if mud and musk turtles get their own family, and snapping turtles get their own, and softshells too, then I think box turtles are also significantly different enough to get their own family, but oh well.

Anyway, glad to hear Tonka's doing well What kind of box turtle is she?
