Seemingly Early Update.
So I had put a bubbler into the tank with Eivey, and I noticed he was cowering in the corner, away from the bubbler. I removed the bubbler, and Eivey seems to be pacing his confines once again. What can I say, I worry about everything. However I am still going to add some guppies. I don't think his tiny mouth will be able to eat them, but I think I will be fun for him, and me.
Also, how much water is too much water? I have him in a tank, with a land section and about one and a half inches of water. He is not even an inch and a half long yet, should I remove some water?

Re: Seemingly Early Update.
Typically you want the water to be at least 1.5 times the length of his shell. It can't be too deep so long as he can get out. It can only be too shallow.

Well that is good to know, he can get out, and I bought a PVC pipe piece today, for him to hide in. So I think he is set up well enough until he is a little larger.

Just make sure that if you add more water in, he can still get out easy. The babies under 3" tend to not be a good of swimmers as the larger ones.

Re: Seemingly Early Update.
Bubblers aren't really needed. Filtration is what's needed.

Yeah I understand all of that, Eivey has enough water for now.

Re: Seemingly Early Update.
What I do for my baby turtles is keep them in a 20 gallon long and I raise one end an inch or 2. The higher end I use pieces of slate and moss for the dry area, the lower has 2-3 inches of water. With the gradient you can always guarantee them an opportunity to get out of the water.

Re: Seemingly Early Update.
That is an amazing idea, I never thought of that lol, I am glad I joined his forum so people could give me better ideas lol. Eivey seems to be doing well, but I have to clean his tank today.
