Question About My Painted and Slider?
We just brought home a baby southern painted and a baby red eared slider just a little over a month ago. They were very avtive, swimming well, basking well, eating well. Fed them one morning just after the uvb and basking lite came on by that evening they were both dead. What happened?

Re: Question About My Painted and Slider?
What were the temperatures in the tank? What were you feeding them and what were you keeping them in? The more you can give us information wise about their care would help someone possibly pick up something you may have missed.
Also, where did you get them from? In many places, (at least here that I know of) it can be illegal to own turtles under 4 inches without being a teacher or someone involved in education.

Painted and Red Eared Slider Continued
The turtles were bought at a reptile swap, funded for educational purposes. They were in a 10 gallon tank. Temperature never got below 74 at night and 80 during the day with a basking spot of 88. They had a uvb bulb as well. They ate 3 small repto pellets twice a day anything more and thay would leave floating not interested. A fluval 1 filter, dechlorinated water, a few cleaned rocks, couple of plastic plants. They were very active, eating, basking, swimming, exploring the surroundings. Feed them one morning when I went back to feed them that night they both were dead. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
