55 Gallon Question
I'm getting a 55 gallon aquarium for my yellow bellied turtle and was wondering if the width of a common 55 gallon was going to be a problem. If so what size should I go with to make the difference?

Re: 55 Gallon Question
I moved your question here to the turtle forum to get better exposure from other turtle owners.

Re: 55 Gallon Question
You might be happier (and your turtle too) with the dimensions of a 75 gallon aquarium - 48"x18"x21".

Re: 55 Gallon Question
The only thing is I don't have room for anything larger than a 55 for right now.

Re: 55 Gallon Question
How big is the turtle now?
Not being mean or anything, but if spent the money now on the 55 then to move them to a 75 that defeats the purpose.....If you know that the 55 wont be big enough then why not make the room for the 75? Or look in to a Waterland tub?

Re: 55 Gallon Question
a standard 75 is the same length and height as a 55.
surely you can handle something sticking out 4 more inches from the wall.

Re: 55 Gallon Question
Just my opinion, but I'd think a 55 gallon would be enough. It's definately the bare minimum and 75 would be more ideal.
