This is the history of Sky, one of my red-eared sliders. (I will post pictures when I find my camera). Remember, this was a long time ago, before I knew anything about turtles.
Many months ago, My family and I went to visit my parents' friends, who had two six-year old twins. I showed them Sunny and Shadow, who I had just bought. They loved the turtles, and asked if they could have one. Obviously, I said no

. They were disappointed, so I figured when I left with my family to go back home, they asked their parents to buy them some. They are spoiled brats, so the parents bought them two turtles.
The next time our family came to visit them, for a birthday party, the little kids showed me their new turtle, which they named Jonas. The poor thing was in a small plastic container with no water and a few dirty leaves. Trying not to explode with madness, I asked if they only had "Jonas", and no other new turtles. They said yes, but that their rabbit had killed and eaten it. I asked the parents if this was true, they said yes.
I explained to the parents that these kinds of turtles turtles needed water to eat and live. The parents gave me "Jonas" after the turtle bit one of the kids. I gladly took her home and renamed her Sky.
Sky is now in a tank at least 15 times bigger than the small plastic container with some tank mates. Pictures coming soon. Thanks for reading!!
