Introducing Bubba & Ozzy

It's been awhile since I've last stopped in. I thought I'd share our newest family members with the group. Bubba our False Map turtle, that's what they think he is, joined us as about the size of a 1/2 dollar a little over a year ago. The breeders said he was a mixed breed. A Misslssippi Map and a False map mated and he is the offspring, so we are not really sure exactly what he is. We purchased him at a local reptile show here in town.
Today Ozzy joined us. Ken was "just looking" and was discussing our turtles and the guy said he had one that needed rescued. Ozzy is a Razorback Musk turtle. He is approx 4 1/2 inches long and so cool looking Ozzy is currently sharing a temp tank with Bubba and 2 small RES Zoe and Iggy. We also have in another temp tank 2 larger male RES, unknamed, and our rescued Clyde, Eastern Painted Turtle. They are all awaiting their move to our new 125 Gallon setup once Ken finishes the stand.

Unfortunately we had some major mortality issues last winter/spring and lost the majority of our RES. We think it was from the water changes and high chlorine content of our water. Once they were moved into the temp tanks the mortality stopped and all have been very active, healthy, happy turtles. Bubba and Zoe are growing like weeds.

This is a picture of Bubba

Here is a picture of Ozzy in his tank (don't mind the water marks) and some sitting outside

Thanks for looking
