Pleco in turtle tank
Has anyone had any luck with a Pleco in a turtle tank? I bought one, and then the next day it was dead, but none of the other fish we bought with it have died.

Re: Pleco in turtle tank
Our terrapin kept chasing the pleco, finally ate it. The only way we could rectify the problem was to get a pleco that was too big for the terrapin to eat.

Re: Pleco in turtle tank
they say to get fish that are bigger than your turtle so that it discourages him from attacking it...
I know this seems like a dumb question but you didnt say the turtle killed it you just said it died.. was it possibly sick or are you certain the turtle killed it? And when I had a small snapping turtle it was housed with a red ear and a large pleco... never had any problems

Re: Pleco in turtle tank
I don't think that one of the turtles killed it. There were no bite marks or anything on it. It cold have been sick when we bought it, although I really didnt see any signs of an illness. It was eating and acting alright the night before it died.

Re: Pleco in turtle tank
Did you quarantine it before putting it in the turtle tank?
