I would say #1 is a Terrapene Carolina triunguis (3 toed Box Turtle)
2 & 3 are Terrapene Carolina Carolina (Common Eastern Box Turtle)

Could two and three be a hybrid of eastern and 3 toed? The woman I got them from kept saying that they were Eastern Three Toed Box Turtles. I didn't realize they you could cross breed, until I did some research.

Yes Lyn, Marty is happy, he was trying to decided where their outdoor enclosure will be in the spring. Now I'm going to have to change my permit as only 2 are Eastern Box Turtles. LOL

Colleen, as I am just a hobbiest, it might be a good idea to take your box's to a trained herp expert at your local zoo for a "without a doubt" identification. That way you can be sure your permits are correct. I'd hate to see you get in any kind of trouble or loose your pets by basing your permits on my ID.

I'm with Ken on this.
I doubt they are hybrids, No.2 looks like a female and the 3 looks like a really dull male or another female.

Guys that has been my thinking all along, #3 is showing signs of being a male (red eye and longer tail). Just wanted someone to hold my hand. LOL I've only see pictures of both species and never the real thing. I knew the first one was a three toed, but I didn't realize that coloration and patterns could be so different in Eastern.
