natural terarrium

i'm not 100% sure, but I am really interested in doing a natural tank for my water dragon.30/70 appx water to land ratio. well, i wanted to use real substrate, the lower level is going to be gravel, next dirt, top wood pieces or substitute... but i'm curious what dirt like substance can I use that will be suitible for rooting live plants? also.. what kind of plants are non-toxic to my little guy?

Re: natural terarrium

hey! I'm like the queen of that.

Dirt: I find the best substrate is a mixture of shredded coco-husk (comes in a brick) and organic potting soil. It MUST be organic.

Plants: Stay away from anything other than green leaves and you will be fine. Stick with tropical plants like pothos. When you get them, be sure to rinse the leaves and dirt very very well to get any chemicals out.

Re: natural terarrium

you may rather do fake plants with the WD. or some VERY sturdy plants.... the WD's are typically harder on plants than frogs are... = )
