Need help with species of frog!

Okay, I have 2 green tree frogs living happily with a red walking frog. They are about the same size, same diet and one lives high up the other under deep substrate, I doubt if they even care/know the others exist.

Anyways, I am trying to get a good community tank of frogs going. I have a 10 gallon and I would like small frogs about the size of a green tree frog. I spray twice a day and with the thick sphagnum layer it keeps things nice a moist all day. I have no heater on there, so that's a restriction.

What small frogs that don't need a heater are available out there that are non-aggressive?

In a 10 gallon tank, you may be approaching your limit... Which "red walking frog?" Kassina maculata? or do you mean the Crevice Creeper, Phrynomerus bifasciatus? If it is the former, be aware that adults of this species are quite voracious--no really small frogs.

Clown treefrogs do well without a heater. I'm not sure on their sociality rating though.

Re: Need help with species of frog!

10 gallon is really too small for anything. If you want happy frogs go at least a 20 gallon. Have you thought about dart frogs although they do need heat.

We have really cute green reed frogs out this way. They are about the size of a quarter.

When did you aquire these Steve? And by the way, amphibians are over-rated and inferior on many levels when compared to reptiles.

Aquired and gone, Mike. Green trees got owned by a parasite (darn you pet store!!!) and the red legged frog was dispatched by a heat wave while it was in the care of Julie's sister.
