    Lucky Has Woke Up...

Lucky, the Grey Tree Frog I rescued, has woken up from her extended hibernation. I noticed movement in the enclosure earlier after misting it. She has been sleeping in the coco fiber for the past 3 weeks, and before that had not moved from the darkest corner of her tank for about a month. (I know this due to all my late nights working on political science papers)

Anyways, since I noticed her up and moving earlier, she has been jumping from end to end of the tank, climbing all over her plants, and has eaten 10 crickets and two wax worms (ate all of captain's food). She is too adorable and has me amazed with how active she is being after barely knowing if she was alive since we found her in the ice.
They call me Katie-Lynn the Georgia Peach.

Yes, I do love my reptiles more than you...

Amazing how frogs can do that! Glad she's eating for you, good sign!

I am going to give it about another month before I release her, let her plump first. I also got her out of the tank while cleaning the glass, she gladly sat on my arm for about 15 minutes before hopping back onto her log.

I think I have PPS(Proud Parent Syndrome), and I am being too excited for her just being so active and exploring everything.

Nice. Many herps here in the south east will be, or are soon to awaken as the warm temps move in. My favorite time of year!

Can you believe it is 70 outside, and it is not even March yet!?!?! I am already sporting flip flops, ball caps, and fishing poles... haha

We were up to 4.5 degrees yesterday but back down to zero today and snow still in the forecast for the next 5 days with highs in the minus.
If anything we may have some snow snakes

    Yes its nice here too,..TODAY!
But winter is not over yet! Our last freeze date here is April 15.
And we just got thru breaking the records for all time coldest recorded and the most temperature variation in a week period.
Last Thursday in NE Oklahoma it was -31F. That was not windchill but actual temperature!
    Yesterday it was 80!
