Care Sheet?
I figured I'd post this here, because I can't find what I'm looking for. lol
Is there a Care Sheets section, or is there one for White's Dumpy Tree Frogs? I first "officially" saw them 3 years ago in the petstore I worked at, and I just love them. I can't have any right now, because we've got a rescue, so our space is limited.
In about 9 months, we're getting a house with some land, and I'll have an office. I'd like to keep some frogs in there, and White's Tree Frogs are so cool, I've been thinking about having them.
I'm the kind of person that has to research a pet before I get it, and I tend to research for years, just to make sure I can properly care for them. So if there's a care sheet, or maybe habitat requirements, or anything, really, I'd really appreciate it.
I guess I'm mainly looking for lifespan, diet, habitat requirements. Maybe personality, common illnesses? I can't really say I trust what I learned about them at the pet store, though every little bit helps.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Care Sheet?
I'm so slow. lol I just now found it. I'm sorry everyone.
But, I have to say that personal experience is also very important, so if you've got experience and wouldn't mind sharing them, I'd appreciate it.

Re: Care Sheet?
There sure is: Whites Tree Frog Caresheet (Litoria caerulea) - Reptile Information - Caresheets Database.
Just for future reference, if you look at the top orange navigation bar, you'll see a bold black list of drop down menus just under the buttons. Caresheets is the first menu.

Re: Care Sheet?
They can over feed and get to fat easy. I would also dust there feed. Watch out for other little things I have had them eat geckos other frogs and my friend had one eat a green snake. I like them but they can break alot of stuff and kill plants with their size.

Re: Care Sheet?
Holy cow, really?! I'll definitely keep them alone. Or, a pair, but no other animals near them. Thanks.

Re: Care Sheet?
You can keep them together with other Whites Tree Frog. The reason they are also called "Dumpy" frogs is because they do get that rolly-polly fat look. If you are looking at having a planted tank, go for plants that are pretty sturdy. Try to get them already established too, rather than putting new cuttings in... Pothos work VERY well. The way you can tell if they are getting too fat, is by the ridges above their ears. If it covers the whole ear, they are overweight. If it doesn't cover any of the ear, they are underweight. You want to shoot for the ridge covering approximately half the ear.

Re: Care Sheet?
Read the care sheet and if you have specific questions, ask away. Once you get the basics down on food, vitamins and what not, they are fun and easy frogs to keep. A pair does really good in a 29 gallon tank, but they prefer height to length, so I always suggest the 37 gallon, which is the same foot print as a 29, only taller. And in a 37 gallon, you can have 3. Currently I have 6 in a 90 gallon.
I want to correct someone on the dusting the food as mentioned in an earlier post. Babies should be fed every day with a light dusting of calcium plus D, minus phosphorus every other day, and adults only need feeding once every three days, and a dusting twice a month. Its very easy to over-calcium these guys. Concentrate more on having healthy gut loaded crickets and less on the vitamin powder.

Ok. I just found where I can get Ca:0.
I've been looking at those hexagon/octagon tanks. They're 55 gallons. Would that be a suitable habitat? I saw on the caresheet it says older frogs like horizontal space, and that seems to have a good amount. If I put a waterfall in there, would that be good?
And how long do they live?
Ou, live plants. I could get those now and start growing them now so they're ready in a few years. I'll have to find fertilizer-free soil first. If I had organic, untreated/unsprayed grapevine or apple branches that have been scrubbed, boiled and baked, would that be ok to put in there?
I was also wondering is 10 cm about 4 inches? I'm trying to convert the centimeters to inches, but I don't know if this calculator I found is accurate. It says 10-15 cm is 3.9-5.9 inches. The caresheet is in centimeters and Celcius, and while the formula to convert Celcius is forver burned into my brain, I can't remember the other formula at all. lol
I was reading old threads, and I saw...Liz's set up, and I really like it. I'm not sure where to get those big rocks. Would I go to a quarry or maybe get slate tiles at Lowe's? I'm assuming I have to watch out for sharp spots.
Also, does anyone know the recommended frog:space ratio?
