Yes, most people just cover it up because it isn't all that pretty or natural looking.

One way is putting coconut fiber (eco-earth, bed-a-beast) on the great stuff before it dries.

Actually, you need to let the great stuff fully cure first, then smear silicone over it and put the EE on that. If you try to add it directly to the GS you either get "holes" from where it expanded more after you added the EE, or it isn't sticky enough to really hold.

Whatever color silicone you use, stick to GE silicone II. I have used it with all my enclosures and it holds up great. Non-toxic once dry.

Not for anything submerged under water. If you need an under water silicone, get aquarium sealant from the pet store.

Clear would work; however, brown will blend with the EE and hide places where the EE doesn't stick or comes off. Also, you'll have to silicone the glass before spraying on the Great Stuff... it won't stick to the glass alone.
