Re: Plants

Live would be better to help keep your humidity up.

Pothos are nice and sturdy and do well in damp environments. They are pretty hardy as well.

Re: Plants

I prefer real plants. I'm a plant person. I do have some fake plants in with my fire belly toads though.

Pothos is the #1 plant I suggest. They are tough and can withstand the weight of a whites tree frog. They look like this:

For substrate, I mix together 50% coco-husk/eco earth, and then 50% ORGANIC potting soil. It MUST be organic. Miracle Grow makes an organic and its easy to find.

Rinse out all plants very well. I usually stick them in the sink and get out as many of the little white balls as possible, and do a few rinses of the leaves and dirt. Then you can either plant it in a pot or right in the substrate. If you can find a tall pot to put it in and put the pot in the tank, the frogs might find a nice hiding spot behind the pot too.

Re: Plants

Hey that's the plant I got for my snake's terrarium.
I had been wondering what it was called to make sure it wasn't poisonous.
It's not in his tank yet.
I'm waiting until I finish the top for his bigger tank. :]]

But yeah that's what I have.
I got it at Lowe's for like, $5.
I'm sure you could get at Wal-Mart, or pretty much any store that has plants.
It's very common.
Or at least, in AL it is. Hahh

Re: Plants

I used fake then switched to live to boost humidity but I'm thinking about switching to half live half fake. Fake plants are just easier for me to deal with. I made my own fake plants, very easy and pretty cheap. Much cheaper then buying ones at a petstore for say, and even then they don't really have much to chose from. This way I can make them the way I want them. I'll post a thread on how I made them in the future.

Live plants do have the A+ in looks though by FAR!
