Treefrog Question
I don't know anything about tree frogs, but I was just wondering if anyone keeps the red eyed tree frogs that are all over books and whatever else that has to do with rainforests. They have awesome color.

Re: Treefrog Question
There are a few people here who keep them. If you check out Liz's gallery I know she has some pics of hers uploaded.

Re: Treefrog Question
How advanced are they? I just love their colors and would be interested in having them some day. Are there any articles you know of I could read?

Re: Treefrog Question
Here is a really good care sheet.
Amphibiancare.com >> Red-eyed Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas) Care
They do best in well planted vivariums with thick leaves they can stick to. I thought I would have a problem with them, but they aren't that hard. They are BORING. I see them for 30 mins a day or so before I go to bed. Very nocturnal. Sometimes they don't even get up.
And they are a hands off frog for the most part. I think I handle them about once a month.

Re: Treefrog Question
They are really cool looking, if I finish my vivarium by the first weekend in June, I may pick up a pair at a nearby(ish) reptile expo.
Though now I'm tempted to buy Monkey legged tree frogs instead. Ahh decisions decisions. I can never make my mind up...

Re: Treefrog Question
Well, as nice as your pictures are, it was more to do with how active i've heard they are. I'm building a 2.5' tall by 18" wide and 12" back Vivarium, live plants, already has a foam backround I built, going to add branches, water dish, though that was a lazy fix, after spending all this time on it I may build a water feature, the works, it should be really cool, and I originaly planned on building it for red eye tree frogs, but after reading an article on Monkey tree frogs, i'm kinda getting tempted toward them now.
