Lump on My Wtf's Head
There seems to be a large lump on my Whites Tree Frog's head, and i'm rather worried about it. I don't have a exotic pet vet around and am unsure what to do about my sick. It looks like a large lump, right next to his eye, and its got a few cracks on the skin. I touched it once and he made a noise and recoiled. He has been losing energy daily since it showed up. Is it an infection or something else? Maybe he just bumped it on something and its sore? Help!

Re: Lump on My Wtf's Head
I'm sorry, but we aren't professionals and this seems like a job for a vet. Where are you located? Maybe someone knows one somewhere nearby.

Re: Lump on My Wtf's Head
Is he in a tank by himself?, if he's not not move him away from any others into his own tank. I'd go online and look up a local vet, it may be a bit of a drive, but theres usualy one somewhere around. We even have a section on this site that links to exotic animal vets by state. It really is something your gonna want to have a vet look at. Even if its just a bump and a cut, WTFs live in a wet and humid enviroment, a breeding ground for all sorts of nasty. Take him to a professional.

Re: Lump on My Wtf's Head
Those links are exactly what I was looking for, thanks. Turns out, there closest vet is about 60 miles north of where I'm at now. I couldn't find anything for the life of me, and was mostly hoping for anything you guys could give me. Thanks a TON!
Also, I just found this forum frantically looking for frog care. I didn't realize there were so many frog enthusiasts around. Great to see that!
Quick question.... what does Herp stand for? I'm rather new to frog owning, I actually didn't even realize vet's treated frogs, lol.

Herp is the collective term for reptiles, turtles, crocs, and amphibians.
As in Herpetology.
