Re: Can't Bake

Buy one of those kiddy pools from wal mart, put bleach and water in it, submerge by using rocks to hold the logs in, or should I say boulders, lol. Soak 24 hours, remove water and bleach tthen soak again in just plain water for 24 hours, and you should be good to go! Works well for me.

Re: Can't Bake

yup, what nicole said. Although if they are too big for your oven, are they perhaps too big for your tank? Cut them down first, then bake?

Re: Can't Bake

With the bleach soak, do it twice. I have read that some eggs can survive the bleach water, so you may want to soak them 2 or three times at 5 day intervals just to be safe. It is just an idea, I have never had the problem, but I know of a lot of people that have.

Re: Can't Bake

i haven't had that problem. The ones I soaked in bleach I did for a 24 hour period, rinsed for 24 hours. I also let them sit for an extra day or two to be sure the bleach evaporated all the way.

Re: Can't Bake

I have to use the kiddie pools for the giant logs I use in my iguana cages,, oh you might want some help removing them when they are soaking wet as they will weigh a lot more than when you pulled them off the beach, lol
