Re: Need Weekend Vacation Ideas
This place has beach camping and cottages: Beaches, Cottages & Camping in Maryland Don't know if the camping is available before April, but it looks like the smallest cottages would run you about $75 a night with the seasonal discount. You could cook a romantic dinner in...
This place looks nice (in Chincoteague): Chincoteague VA Hotel Lodging Virginia Inn Accommodations Assateague The cheapest rooms look to be $70. Still a bit pricey, but it looks romantic! I bet ramen noodeles for dinner could be romantic, too...
This is up in Delaware, but it looks like a nice park with year-round camping. They say they have showers, and there's no asterisk specifying cold water only...

Re: Need Weekend Vacation Ideas
Right now I found a hotel in Chincoteague for $80/night and that includes a hot breakfast. So pretty much we would just need 2 dinners, since I'll pack lunch stuff like fruit and sammiches.
I think we decided to splurge a little. It IS our 5 year anniversary after all, and 2 of those were VERY difficult. We feel like since we were able to work everything out, we should reward ourself.
Although Amy, this one seems VERY nice. I wouldn't mind that AT ALL. Hrmmmm.

Re: Need Weekend Vacation Ideas
Whatever you do, have a nice time together and honor the commitment you've made and the work you've done to keep it. It's a worthy thing to celebrate!

Re: Need Weekend Vacation Ideas
Grrr, apparently there is a long term person staying there at the moment that is NOT marked on their online booking calendar. The lady at the desk is going to ask him about if he is planning on being there for that weekend still.
GRRRR.
I also noted the price on the weekends is higher than the weekdays, which I didn't notice before, so it looks like its about $100/night and not $80.

Re: Need Weekend Vacation Ideas
Aww, bummer! You'll find the right thing... You can camp in my back woods if you don't mind my dog barking, lol! No beach, but we have a creek. Maybe you'll find a spotted salamander!
