Anyone keeping Indian Stars?

I am wondering if any members keep them or have past experiences with them? I've never kept Torts before and was wondering about their level of difficulty for keeping. Beautiful looking species. Nice compact size as well.

Re: Anyone keeping Indian Stars?

If I recall correctly those things are pretty spendy and dont outgrow their welcome,, so that would be a big no for me, and the chances are I will never get one in here, lol

Re: Anyone keeping Indian Stars?

I haven't found a breeder in Canada yet. There's one in the US selling them for $750male to $1000female. Of course that's a retail price. If I find a private breeder usually you can haggle them down somewhat.(fingers crossed)

Re: Anyone keeping Indian Stars?

Most people who spend that much on an animal usually take care of it, so I guess that would be a big no as far as one coming into my rescue, lol. I usually get iguanas, giant snakes. and whatever cheap reptile people buy spur of the moment and decide they cant keep because crickets are so hideously spendy, lol

But if you find one PLEASE post lots of pics those are so beautiful!
I myself would love to own a red foot, but until Oscar finds a home (like he ever will, lol) that is a no for me.
