While this looks like a small clump of dirt, it is POOP. This is why it is not advisable to house reptiles on SAND. Even the "digestible" types really aren't. We're hoping that as we continue to soak her she will pass all the sand.
Meet the newest member of Mom's family...
The previous owner had her for seven years, but didn't know how old she was at that point. Her size is just between AT and Cody (formerly known as Chloe). She appears to have had some pyramidding at a very early age, but has grown out of it nicely. She's very healthy, active, and robust. And the little boys LOVE her!

So now we have a tortoise train the the back... where ever she goes, they follow. Once Stanley got a whiff of her, he came running across the yard to investigate.

Just after I took that photo of him, he tried to get into the little ones' pen! It's a good thing he's getting his own "friend" next weekend!

Poor Stanley, lol . At least the new one looks pretty good,, my poor Oscar has some serious pyramiding, I wonder if he will ever outgrow that.
I am glad to hear the baby passed some of the sand, thats a pretty large clump, she should be able to get the rest out.

Re: Update on adopted/rescued baby & More news
I meant to post pictures MUCH sooner, but better late than never, I guess!
Stanley has not one but TWO new women in his life now!!! Samantha and Shelly. I'm not sure yet which is which... but mom does. One of them, Samantha, I believe, was wild-caught in Africa. She's around 40. What's interesting is that she's been rubbed so much that her shell is smooth. Previous owners (not the ones we got her from) had her chained in thier yard... how does one chain a tortoise, you ask? By drilling a hole through a scute (I'll get a close up soon).
Anyway, here are the new girls...
 Samantha
 Shelly
 Stan in Heaven
Stanley didn't eat for the first three days... he was otherwise occupied. He thought he won the lottery, but we're sure the girls thought they were sold as sex slaves. Stan's figured out that the girls aren't going anywhere, so he's eased up.

Yep... near her back leg. I think she was rescued by Walter Allen, a very noteworthy conservationist in the tortoise hobby. He recently passed away, and homes are being found for some of his collection... not the Gallapagos Torts, though.

My sentiments exactly! I just usually don't vocalize it that well. My girlfriend always says it should be illegal for some people to have pets or children!
