I can say that this encounter with this tortoise makes me want to get a (smaller) tortoise for my own. I really enjoyed and still enjoy taking care of this tortoise. However, I still feel there can be found a better home for this tortoise.
I would offer the tortoise on here, but I'm pretty sure nobody lives around this area and besides, CTTC seems like they can find a good home.
I'll keep everyone posted... I just emailed CTTC and awaiting response.

Hi, I'm one of the Admins here, and I live in the Modesto area... not too far from you. I'll take this tort. My mother has three sulcatas. The largest is well over 100 pounds and about 27 years old. She lives on a 40 acre ranch and has extensive setups for her three. Please PM me for my contact information.

Absolutely Liz! I know that I'll eventually inherit 3 (now possibly 4) beautiful sulcatas!

I sense Nicole taking a road trip...
Nicole, you can't actually adopt out Oscar. You would miss the leg ramming too much. And what about laughing when he gets his foot stuck in a shoe?

Re: What kind of Tortoise is this? I need to know.
oscar is my baby,,, however I have turned down two other sulcatas because I have him. Oscar really does not need me anymore,, he now has a clean bill of health and has gained tremendous amount of weight, I have to stop and remember I am a rescue, not a zoo. If the right home came across I will adopt him out. I had someone come look at him the other day, but that will not work out,, I go with my gut instinct,,, which said no. Also the fact that he said he had a huge one before and it died when his girlfriend left him, it stopped eating and starved to death I had a huge problem with that line of bull!
