If you cannot find repti bark with the LARGE size bark pieces I would get moss and make sure to pat it down flat.
I'm using peat moss right now for my new tokay I received today.

ok thanks to all u guys for the help and advice.

I ended up with reptibark as substrate, ceramic heat emitter - 100 watts, bunch of fake plants and three hides in different spots, along with a waterbowl on the Under Tank Heater side for extra humidity and a food bowl.

about their food, i offered wax worms, mealies, and crix... none of which they are eating...

humidity at 70% and cage temp about 85

LOL about the uncle thing...its a paranoid myth. If you're animal bites and won't let go. Try not to scream and blow in their faces since that's the most sensitive area. Putting in water with corruptly make it let go of you're that you have a bigger risk of severly injuring them more than the animal bite will essentially do to you.

Tokays are not my strong point since I'm always confused about why most of them have such bad attitudes in the first place. But with basic patience and once the tokays have grew fond of you the bitting will become less. Though that is the reason why I always buy my pets, excluding bettas at very early ages so I can break them out of any bad habits.

Well anyway enjoy your new Tokays and I hope that one warms up to you.

Oh yeah about the heat. Since Tokays like to stay on wall placing the Under Tank Heater on the wall will work fine. I noticed you had a lot of appliances so at night a Under Tank Heater will be fine. Having a regular light, Ceramic Heat Emitter and Under Tank Heater on in a cage as small as a 29 long could possible overheat the warm side. Which leads me into another point that I didn't hear you mention but make sure you have a cool and a warm side with any type of tank that's not upright. And if you do have an upright tank make sure the temperature at the top is not too hot and the bottom will serve as the cooler part to avoid overheating.

Okay I'm done

You might try a modification of the old large constrictor keepers trick. Take a cotton swab, dip it in alcohol and have it ready. when the gek latches on just bring the swab in front of his nostrils and see if it releases.
Just a thought. Never tried it myself.
