Help

Hi there, it's been a long since my last post, but I really need help. Okay, here's the thing, last week my Tokay shed its skin during. That week he didn't eat a thing but this week when I fed him, every cricket he tries to catch he misses. Then I tried with an exo-terra vivicator thing and used freeze-dried crickets and even when they are still he misses. Is it possible that he might be blind or something? What should I do? Please help.

Re: Help

He isn't blind. If he were blind, he wouldn't know the crickets were there to be missing in the first place. Have you taken a good look at his eyes to make sure he got all of the shed off of them? If there is retained shed, it would make his vision blurry which could result in him missing the crickets. If one eye is covered, his depth perception could be off and coul result in the missed crickets as well.

Re: Help

And to solve the current eating problem so he gets some stuff into him, try feeding him off tongs. Put the cricket so its just touching his nose.

Re: Help

Hello again, i tried to feed him by tongs and, he simply ran away. this is strange because he normally tries to bite my hand when I put it really close, then I tried with some tweezers and nothing; and I couldn't really see any trace of scales in his eyes, even took a photos from them and they seem normal, not that usual white color when they shed. I think I'm going to see a vet tomorrow, because I really feel bad when he tries to grab a cricket and misses, even with the vivicator thing.

Re: Help

It might be glare or something, but to me, his right eye looks like there is something there...

Re: Help

Hi, I just got back from the vet and he told me that my tokay was ok, the only thing was that he needed more uvb rays and to improve its vision he recommended a multivitamin supplement, any recommendations?
