Try spritzing him with vinegar when he bites. It doesn't hurt them, and it made a real difference in one of my snakes who was aggressive, and in my daughters Savannah who had been mistreated and is blind in one eye, and very self defensive. They learned pretty fast not to bit right away. I also used it as a training method on my ex-brother in laws Chihuahua, and my one horse. Its just white vinegar, so leaves no sticky residue. It also worked for my Tegu, as she had a very bad attitude when I got her (never had been handled) and the store workers were horribly afraid of her. It also works for the parrot when he starts screeching and the cat when we find her sitting ontop of the lizards cage. Lots of luck. The guys at the store cannot believe how tame the Tegu is now. She even plays with little children well.

Humm... I like that idea... I was trying to think of a way to make my hands taste real yuk that wasnt toxic... I may try putting the vinagar on my hands... If I cant tame him, thats fine too... Im just more of a hands on pet owner... But I will love chomper all the same...

I asked my boyfriend this morning why he decided to get me a Tokay... His reply was that my kids are growing up too fast, and the only reason Id want another baby eventually was to keep me on my toes (there is a little truth to that) and this little guy was being a terror in the pet store, and it would keep me on my toes lol...

Good luck with him. The vinegar trick has helped a lot here. I had only one it didn't work for. Sometimes it can take a little, once they experience that as soon as their mouth is open when it doesn't belong that way they get spritzed they really adjust their attitudes. My jungle carpet diamon cross python was the hardest. He just thought he should bite us like he did the kids that worked at the pet store. After a few times, he changed his mind real quick. You need to have the bottle with you, and get him within a few seconds. Just like correcting a horse or dog you only have about 3 seconds to give them an adjustment, or they don't know why you did it. Good luck.

Honestly, I don't water down the vinegar. We just use straight white vinegar, it's not that expensive. We use it as a cleaner too.
