Baby Tokay
My baby tokay Sputnik, I have a few questions. Should the temps be the same as adult tokays, aswell as humidity. I also have Nik on paper towels. I was wonderin when would it be ok to switch substrates. is there any good caresheets on these little guys.

Re: Baby Tokay
Yes and Yes. You should keep the temps and humidity the exact same as adults. Also, paper towel works as a substrate but I would suggest some sphagnum moss. You can switch substrates as soon as you want. I'm sure there are some good caresheets, just look up a bunch and kind of average things out. Usually they will all say the same thing though, or close to it.

Re: Baby Tokay
I have Nik in a 40 gallon enclosure. It is not very well decorated. Two half logs and log object. What else would be recomended to put in the cage to make Nik happy.

Re: Baby Tokay
They're an arboreal species, so they like a lot of plant cover, whether it be fake or live plants. Various logs, branches, and leaves will suffice. They need stuff to both hide and climb in, and will often appreciate a dark retreat they can hide in.

Re: Baby Tokay
Hmmm... this gets me thinking... Is it possible to switch the cages of my 20 gallon leapord gecko with his 40 gallon tank... Of course with the proper cleaning of the cages and materials.

Re: Baby Tokay
Wait...put the leopard in the 40 and the tokay in the 20? Or the other way around? If you have those two lizards and those two tanks the 40 would be better for the tokay and the 20 for the leo. But in any case, it's perfectly possible to clean out the tanks and switch them. But I'd only do it of the tokay's getting the 40.

Re: Baby Tokay
sorry for the late respone. i went to florida for vbs with the youth group at church that I go to. It was amazing. I just thought that sense the 20 gallon was higher than the 40 gallon. It would make the gecko happier. But I guess not. Thanks for the help.

Re: Baby Tokay
For my arboreal geckos, which I keep exclusively over their ground loving cousins, I hang fake plants from the grate roof. Paleomike does this too. your geckos will love you forever if you make a back corner thicker and string some across the roof like little gecko highways.
