FBTs!!!

hey people, how many of you keeps Fire bellied toads!!!
are they very terroritorial???

all I know they're hungry toads!!! haha

Hi fuse, I keep 2 firebellies, but not in near as elaborate of a setup as you have those in. Nice looking toads

I also have 2 fire-bellied toad's. Can we see a full pic on your enclosure Fuse. no they arent territorial at all in fact they live in groups in the wild. Mine isnt that elaborate either. How deep is your water it doesnt look very deep, they like it bout 2 to 3 inches deep. i frequently see mine diving and swimming along.

I Also Have A Male And A Female And They Have Three Inches Of Water IN A Pool That Is Level With The Substrate And They Have Vines And Plants Everywhere. * Question * Does Anyone Know What To Do To Get Them To Breed They Do That Applexing Thing All The Time But Alas No Eggs?, And What Is There Adult Size?

Are you sure they are a male and a female it is very hard to tell them apart unless one makes an ooping sound thats a male. I have 2 males. Applexing? u mean showing thier bellies? they can get about 2 inches I think but not totally sure.

thanks for the comments, yah Toadie78, the water area is not too deep, but i'll try to raise it. thanks

my guess is that I have 2 males and a female! no eggs too haha

i posted a step by step simple setup of this in the caging section, hope to share with u guys as in my country not many appreciate this art and even lesser keep herps

Amlpexus is how most anurans mate. The unken reflex is when OFBTs show their bellies However, just cause they're amplexing doesn't mean they're a male and a female. Horny males will sometimes grab other males too, but the other male will usually "oop" a protest. OFBTs aren't territorial. Quite the opposite. They're best kept in small groups of up to 6 individuals. I think the same is true for EFBTs and YBTs too.

Yeah I to like the setup. Im setting up the task of renovating my toad tank today manly for the water change thats due but also to deepen the water a bit too so I can put the filter back in like it should be.
