    Bloated Toad, or Not? Photo

I have many toads on my property and can go out any given night and find at least 6 or more just on my back patio. This guy has me worried. I've not see a toad look like this before. I'm attaching two photos, one showing his bloated belly, and the other one, hopefully showing his sunken in sides. Does this toad look sick, pregnant or normal?

Looks sick somehow. Sadly you just have to let nature take its course. Nothing you can really do for it.

I thought it didn't look right. The stomach area seems to be bloated with air. I found him last week in my garage and I put him outside. He looked like that then. I know he's eating because when I was snapping photos of him, I got a great shot of him sucking down a worm. I'll keep an eye out for him. It's unfortunate that he's sick. I take a great interest in all the little toads around my place.

Nothing I've ever seen before. Too bad, I always loved toads and frogs.

I have seen that before, sadly it is nothing that can be done. While I was working for Home Depot in the garden center, we would get frogs and toads galore showing up around our sample ponds. A few of them would then eat dying bugs that got into the fertilizers, or even the coated seeds, and the chemicals would cause severe bloating, sometimes discoloration, and eventually they will either get too much in their system and shut down, or the bloating will be severe enough to cause them to starve.
