Fire Belly Toad Mating?

So I looked into my fire-bellied toad tak just now, and I saw my two toads on rock/plant in the water, and a toad was on the back of another, so is this mating? if so, and they end up laying their eggs, what do i do. I also saw that one has thicker hind legs than the other, which i just so happend called him Fikki for a boy, and Zola for the thinner hind leg one, which by the way hasn't turned green yet except for the spot by her shoulder blades. So could this also be a sign of a male/female

Well, was the one on the top in an embrace, or was he just hanging out on the other? They do what I call a toad pile, quite often, which means nothing. Have you heard a male calling? Does one look REALLY round?

they weren't latched on each other tightly but they were probably doing what you called toad pile, I've also noticed that they are touching each a lot lol, and they only one that I could get a look at was the one with fat hind legs and he didn't look round at all. And I couldn't see the other one's belly because it was sitting on the bridge, I'll try to take a glance at it when it's in the water. And i haven't heard any calling, at least i haven't paid attention to any. But i do notice that they are ALWAYS in the water and very rarely on the land part. Oh and the one that i noticed had fat hind legs was the one that i called zola which hasn't turned fully green at all since i've had them and only the green patch on her shoulder blades. And the one that i named Fikki who was sitting on the bridge didn't have a round belly either but he's been fully green

When/if you see an embrace, you will know it. The one on top will have his front arms hooked under the armpits of the one on the bottom and won't let go.

ok, and i thought i heard a calling last night for a short time, it was very faint. It was either my little dog makin noises in her sleep, but I think it might have been one of the toads. I'll go on youtube and type in fire belly toad calling and see if that is what i heard last night

I think I might have heard it this morning, I'm thinking of also buying a filter for them sometime next week, as I'm tired of always having so much eco earth in the water, and I saw one of them trying to eat the stuff in the water

They really do need a filter. If you pack the eco earth down really hard, ou will get much less in the water.

ok, I think it's mainly from them when it sticks to them when their on the land then it gets into the water, but I''ll try to pack it down some more
