re: How Do I Know if My Fbt is Pregnant

Well, females don't really get pregnant. They carry eggs and when she lays them, the male fertilizes them at the same time. She is probably full of eggs, so the male will try to hang on as long as possible, in order to make the connection.

If this is the case, and Your female is ready to breed, The next step can take a few hours to a few weeks! If You want them to breed, just turn off all the lights, and stay away till morning.

Re: How Do I Know if My Fbt is Pregnant

I have a tub of water in there, I usually change it about once a week. Should I look for eggs, or not change the water or what? I need advice. I don't know lots about these guys. And what else can I feed them besides crickets??

Re: How Do I Know if My Fbt is Pregnant

if its unfiltered water, you need to be changing that every other day. FBTs produce a toxin and if kept in unfiltered, unchanged water, they can make them self sick.

I feed mine small "red wigglers" or as my husband calls them "trout worms." They are just really small earth worms. My FBTs gobble them up. Be sure to be dusting your crickets once a week with a calcium supplement, and feed your crickets lots of yummy veggies.
