Nope, no wood. Just aquarium gravel in the bottom of the water section, river stones and large gravel in the dry area, and fake plants.

I did find a completely intact frog skin last night. I thought the slime was accumulating, then looked a little closer and could make out tiny little toes on the ends of the "slime" strands. So freakin weird!

As far as getting her to eat, well, she's holed up in the filter now and I'm pretty sure it'll take an act of god to get her out. I'm afraid she'll end up getting hurt if I try to force her to come out. She crawled up there right after she shed.

But the wax worms arrived and they're beautiful. The other two toads adore them! They're only getting one a week though; they're fat enough as it is!

that doesn't sound like a healthy toad at all. They are supposed to eat their skin when they shed. And I would suggest getting her out of the filter, they do come apart after all. Do you have hiding places for them in the tank? Like one of those upside down coconut shells, or a half hallowed out log? She might be stressing out without a hiding place and the filter was the best she could do.

Yeah, they have lots of plants to hide in; on land and in the water. I've added some since taking the pictures posted at the beginning of this thread. I thought they might like some privacy once in awhile, but so far they've all stayed piled up together until Chance shed and holed up in the filter. I'll get her out tonight and put her in a separate enclosure while I try to figure out what's wrong with her. I'm afraid her life before I got her was just too harsh and she may not make it. I thought she was doing so well there for awhile...

Re: Please help me with Toad Slime!

Just a quick note, It took my fire-bellied toad tank nearly 3 weeks to cycle completely. As I have had fish in the past, I wasn't too concerned when my water went hazy for a few days. I have a Tetra 10i filter in my 2 gallons of water in the tank. I vaccuum the larger poo about once a week and change the filter cartridge every 3 weeks. Once the tank has cycled, everything will be fine.
