I didn't realize how bad of a drought we were having (dispite the state being on fire) until I hit Paynes Prairie a few days ago. This water is normally waste deep and havent seen it much lower since Ive been coming to it. i'm not sure if it's much of a secret but crocodilians are my favorite animals so I'm happy to see pretty much nothing but. Our first animal. This is the first time she's ever been herping. (She's at a safe distance) The critters she was normally excited about. Wild horses: Decendants from Hacienda de La Chua in 1637. Here is a critter from a small puddle you have to climb through vegetation to find. I found it because I heard them crying a few days before. A ..gaggle.. of gators Found this guy on the trail. Some randoms, and pics to show how low and populated this area is. And because turtles are cool, heres a yellowbelly trying to find deep water. And a couple of chickens that frequented the area.
