I am wondering if any of you use ReptiSun UVB fluorescent?

Should it be replaced every 4 or 6 months? Its for my Bearded Dragon.

    I don't have a UVB meter so I can't measure. I've had it on 12h a day for the pass 2 months.

Hi, I`ve used ReptiSun tubes in the past, best to replace them every 6 months or so.

Thanks! Not sure why I was told the UVB on that brand is no good after 4 months. Am glad is 6 months tho! I don't have a meter but my Mary-Loo loves to bask on ramp just under the tube.

6 Months is what they recommend.
But I have had tubes that were still going strong at a year and others that 6 months was it.

Oh, wow I didnt know that some could last longer!

Is there a alternative to the expensive UVB meters that I can use? I saw on eBay a cheap gadget that gives a different colour or a level depending on UV levels. Would that be something ok to use? I know it wont give exact numbers but would show a high or low UVB emissions.

Considering the asking price its a pretty reasonable assumption that it is a peice of junk.
