I'm confused about something. In most of the books about tomato frogs, I see a little bamboo "raft" that they sit on. Do people grow bamboo in their terrariums or is that just for a photo op? Should their substrate have bamboo in it? I didn't know bamboo was native to Madagascar. Is it? I want to create the perfect environment for my little tomato. What are some good plants to plant? She actually moved the pothos I had planted in there...I guess it was in her way!:)

You can plant the "lucky bamboo" into your viv if you want. It will grow. I have no idea what a raft is.

Tomato frogs are burrowers. Because of this they will often uproot plants. Pothos is a good choice because they can tolerate being dug up and replanted. The frogs do good with shredded coco-husk substrate and some plants to hide under. A simple water dish changed regularly does a great job for their water needs.

Here is a care sheet for them.
