His species is renowned for its ability to blend in, but this tiny critter is even better than most as the world's smallest chameleon.

Balanced on the tip of a scientist's fingernail in Madagascar, the-three centimetre reptile is no bigger than the flies that form his average-sized cousin's lunch.

Scientists discovered four new species - called Brookesia micra - on a small islet just off the main island.

Haha I thought it was a mini melon too! I wonder how you could keep one in captivity... Just kidding! Would love to know more about its diet and lifestyle though... I wonder if they can change to bright colours like other chams!

This is off topic but hooray! I see the HC Android app is up judging by the little logo on MogleBass's post! Downloading now!

Maybe we could keep a mini-meleon in a critter keeper!

Re: BREAKING NEWS- Smallest Chameleon Species Discovered!

Cool..ironically, my co-worker sent this same article to me at work today...(I found it quite amusing that someone commented, something to the effect of.."How do they know it isn't a baby, and hasn't just hatched out of the egg??, I bet if you wait a little bit, the one in the picture will grow to the size of a normal one")..I'm thinking...RIGHTTTTTTT, you keep thinking that...lol.
    Very neat animal for sure..
