I just found some amazing looking sphagnum moss and I really want to incorporate it into my skink's habitat. Should I keep it in the soil it came with, are there dangers to having it fresh from the environment of the world? To the naked eye it is clean without any bugs.

This is a link of a picture that I took of it after cultivating it.

Where did you get it from? Does the area get chemicals?

Never any chemicals. My friend owns 10 acres of land as part of a 200 acre nature sanctuary.

Maybe boil it for 10-15 minutes

Its safe to use then as long as there arent any bugs on it.
