Can someone tell me more about calcium supplements with and without vitamin d3 in it? Also, which/what is the best to use for a juvenile Bearded Dragon?
I just purchased Fluker's Calcium with Vitamin D3 in it (phosphorus free), and I'm thinking about switching back to just plain old calcium (with no D3). I'm just worried about my beardy possibly overdosing from the d3,...but if someone could explain this to me better it would be greatly appreciated! :) Thank you. ~ Lacey

There should not be an over dose if you do not use it every dusting. Both D3 and with out are good to have that way you can control how often you dust with D3!

Calcium with D3 is more applicable to herps that do not require UVB light. In the presence of UVB light the animals actually manufacture D3 in their skin cells and only make enough to suit their needs.
