    Hey,
I am getting my Yoshi a new cage with doors that open in the front. But what should I get? The cage will be 4x2x2 and I am hoping I can have windows on the side too. Any ideas?
Building is out of the question lol.

Personally, I would stay away from Melamine, I hate the stuff (just something I learned to hate)!
PVC would be easy to clean or sealed solid wood (not cedar/pine).
Where are you planing on buying it?
You will need to have an area for basking on one side and a UVB linear tube light.

    Go with PVC.

I am thinking about buying from Animal Plastics. Have you bought from them before?
They said on the phone that there cages retain heat when trying to provide a high basking temp. So to make sure there is a cool side, I should get vents on the side. How does that sound to yall?
I am also glad that PVC will be lighter :)

Where are you getting yours from? And any input on how the cage retains heat?

Also, are they good for Ackies in the future?

Hi Brady, do you have any idea how thick the enclosures are (I imagine quite sturdy)?

    Straight from AP site:
"Material.. 1/2” CDPVC™ (Controlled Density PVC) UV Resistant."

Well its like an inch thick, very sturdy. Hard PVC. Retains heat very very well.

Thanks! They sound quite good (I`ve never use one), and at that thickness, I would think o.k for retaining the heat (no different than using 1/2 plywood). Obviously, the room temps will have some effect, I think it might work for a V. acanthurus tank if they do them to measure; approx 120L x 75W x 90H cm (4L x 2.5W x 3H feet).

How do you open and close it, is it a sliding plate glass front?

I've never used Animal Plastics, but I hear some really great things about their products from people who do.

Great! They are extremely nice people to work with so far. I am sure they can do any size.

You can get Glass or Acrylic that slides or hinged.

Where are you getting yours from? And any input on how the cage retains heat. Should I get more vents for my beardie?

Re-read what I said. I've never used Animal Plastics. I can forward your inquiries to people who do, though.
