I recently finished my turtle paludarium, and had included two small cups on the land portion, in which I was hoping to put my Bromeliads. The bromeliads are too big to fit, so I am looking for ideas of what else to put in there.

It has to meet the following specs:

Small (under 6" tall, not very spreading)
    Can tolerate bright light
Can thrive in a damp environment
Does not require nutrient poor or sterile conditions
Totally safe for a turtle who will likely try to eat it

Initially, I was thinking I would put my recently purchased venus fly traps in there, but they require sterile nutrient deprived soil conditions. In a turtle tank, that is NOT going to happen. They fit all the rest of the specs though. Anyone have any different ideas - VFT are not suitable.

    Ideas?
