Pine Shavings?

    Is pine shavings safe? Ive read much debate on this.

    No, stick with aspen or cypress mulch (cypress holds humidity much better), avoid pine and particularly cedar. Even newspaper is better than pine.

    If it is kiln dried you will be fine. That said, there are a lot of better options for reptiles. But I do know of some keeping fairly large collections on kiln dried pine. I only use it for my rodent breeding.

    Personally I lump pine in with cedar. I prefer not to chance it.

    As said, there are better options.
