If you really want to find a good place to find herps in NY, i suggest go to stony creek. Its about a 4 hour drive from the city though and really boring. (Unless your into trees) I've caught turtles, salamanders, and other things. (too bad the turtle picture is too big i had a nice picture of it)

Hi....depending on where you're located. I lived in upstate ny most of my life and went herping all the time. Just on the outskirts on Rochester....there is Letchworth state park, Stoney Brook, Mendon ponds, heck you can even find stuff right in the parks in the city like cobbs hill and irondiquoite (?) oh....and let's not forget about the adirondaks
