    Here we go. 4w x 8L x 7'6"h, 2x4 frame. Viewing window will be 4x6, with a door window of 4x2.
Just got back from home depot with 3/4" plywood and 2x6's.

VERY nice. I like it. Feel free to post PLENTY of pictures, I'll be having to build a large enclosure for my Ornatus by mid next year. I might steel some of your ideas.

Of course it keep me from getting into trouble.
    Should be a sweet enclosure.
Is it a plan as you go, or have you planned it all out ;)

We bought this house last December, the basement needed a complete floor and ceiling. To the tune of 5 grand, the wife to be suggested the vive in the new family room. So of course the critter are more important then the big bar I want to finish.

Nice, man...what I would give to have the space for something like that right now. Instead I'm stuck in SketchUp mocking up fantasy builds...

Looks good! How are you planning on sealing/protecting the wood?

Maybe you've thought this all through already.
But I would run a dedicated electrical line to your panel box for something like that.
Unless you don't have anything else on the breaker.

That is a good idea Mike. Something I should definitely consider for my next build.

You guys are on the ball....I ran 2 new circuits to my breaker box, one for heat the other for light and accessories. Please keep all ideas coming. Kim and I both appreciate the input.

How deep of substrate are you trying to provide?

It really depends on the final fit of the viewing window....but right now looks like 75% of the vive wil have at least 24", but we are incorporating a 2'x4'x3 1/2' nest box on a separate terrace.
