    I works out well because there is an overhang and deck out of that window, so only the early morning light hits the tank. The rest of the day its just the ambient light which helps out the plants. Plus the light that hits it in the morning hits it from the side so it just goes through both pieces of glass without heating up the tank much at all.

    I would still be very cautious, even though it is going through the glass it can still raise the temperature. I would get a minimum maximum thermometer and check it out.
    And remember that the angle of the sun now will change as the seasons do.

    I have 7 thermometers in it right now, so I know the temps everywhere, and about the sunlight, I just meant that that window only recieves about an hour of direct sunlight a day no matter what time of year, also the sunlight isn't very direct since its early in the morning so not much,if any, heating occurs during that time. I thought about the placement good and hard before getting that heavy thing into place.
